Great video! There are some really strong visuals here. I've already taken the liberty of embedding it onto the "Hark!" web page (incidentally, the songs are all better quality now and include a traditional English carol).

BTW I silently agreed that "media bias" is a phony issue.

thanks for all of the kinds words, all. i had no idea anyone had seen it until just now, so it's a nice surprise.

btw, the ice skating visuals were taken from a recent afternoon on which j & i went skating @ a public rink nearby -- specifically on the famous 'midway plaisance' that bisects the university of chicago campus.

re: today, how about the inauguration? unbelievably awesome. wouldn't you know it, but i was giving a final to a section of us history, when i and all of the students really should have had our eyes glued to the television. oh well. everything has been rerun a million of times today.

peace.

ps -

btw, i met bill ayers a couple of weeks ago. really nice guy.

Tom,
I request some new postings. Specifically on the first month of the Obama administration.

hey, paddy! i myself am itching to get back into the blog, but i have been super-busy student teaching. i'll be done with the s-t, however, at some time during march. and i'll try to post some stuff before then.

if you have anything you'd like to contribute, email me. actually, if anyone is interested in being a co-poster on this blog, let me know, and we could tag-team this thing.

i met ayers 'cause he's friends w/ one of the teachers i work with. directly after speaking w/ him, i took notes on my conversation w/ him, and i'll post them as soon as i get a chance. he's a really nice guy who loves baseball and loves his kids, etc. it's basically ridiculous and quite scary that the media were insinuating all sorts of absurd things about him. i'm sure i don't totally approve of the things he's done in his life, but he's also in NO WAY a "terrorist," and what's more, he's not "unrepentant." he regrets a bunch of stuff from his past; but he was never involved in causing anyone ANY bodily harm.

in my prev. post i meant to say "of ALL of the things he's done in his life." the vast majority i'm sure is fine.
